Our roof is on and so is the rain!

Bricks were finalised on Monday 30th Jan and the Roof & Insulation was done the very next day Tuesday 31st Jan!  We are very happy with how our home is taking shape and visit nearly every day to see the progress.
The front posts are bricked ready for installation of the 3 x Merbau timber posts which were delivered today as well as the eaves.
We had a call from SS asking if we knew how to get rid of the rain LOL No more work can be done outside until the super wet mud pit dries up.
Next week we'll hopefully see the giprocking commence inside….woohoo!!!
Now - if only we knew how to clear away the rain….oh that's right Stockland have planned an outdoor event so of course it's going to rain AGAIN! :-)
On another note, we've been checking out ikea and furniture shops getting ready for a shopping spree when it's time to move in……I seriously can't wait!

Fascia & Gutters installed

Went for a look today to see the bricks at 99% completion!  We are extremely happy with the workmanship and love love love our brick choice!  The fascia & gutters are also up and look fantastic :-)  The roof and insulation has also been delivered on site today so we should see the roof go up over the next few days!
McDonald Jones & our SS are doing such a great job of making sure everything is happening when it should!

1 by 1 the brickies make our house!

The hardworking brickies started work today!  In the space of a few hours they've started with the alfresco and back walls and one third of the laundry side.  We are so pleased with our choice of Symmetry Earth and look forward to the end result.

Bricks almost 100% complete, fascia & gutters arrive

It's a new year and our builder is moving things along quickly!

Happy New Year everyone! This year is going to bring a lot of joy to those building in Glenmore Ridge!  Our builder McDonald Jones are back from their christmas break and are full steam ahead thanks boys & girls (oh and thanks to this wonderful sunshine)!

The roof trusses were finished on Monday 9/1 and the plumber was also kept busy installing all the copper pipes for town & tank water + the gas mains.

Our Austral Symmetry Earth bricks were delivered Tues 10/1 and sand has taken residence in preparation for the brickies to endure the hard labour!  The next couple of weeks will be exciting for us as we watch our house transform into something we've only dreamt about for so long!!!!  I'm so happy with everything MDJ have done so far and our SS Peter is great :-)  

Windows are up!

We noticed that our windows and doors were installed prior to Christmas Eve!  Everything looks good so far and we've had no dramas with MJD…..1st progress payment processed though for the slab which now means extra loan repayments! Just need to win the NYE lotto jackpot and we'd be set for life!

Santa aka McDonald Jones surprised us by putting up the frames and roof truss today….our windows were also delivered.  It's so exciting to see our house progress through the construction stage.  We wished for this stage to be completed by Christmas and it has come true - YAY!!!   Merry Christmas everyone, we look forward to moving in and being a part of this great community in 2012!!

SLAB Sunday!

Monday 5th December - Drove past on my way home from work to check out the freshly laid waffle pods and steel mesh reinforcing.  Looking good so far :-)

Sunday 11th December - Well didn't I get the surprise of my life when I drove by late this afternoon - Our SLAB!  Between Friday night and Sunday night the concrete fairy had paid our block a visit!  Happy curing slab & get ready for the next stages - our steel frames!
